Just a little trick I discovered recently.
I liked the facility to link feature Movies to TV Shows, but I never liked the way the movie was just dropped at the bottom of the TV Show list. It would be nice to have it placed in the correct order for viewing, the way Specials are sorted.
Then I came across Stream Files and wondered if they would work for local content as well… and it does! (yes, yes, a lot of you knew that already. If you did, thanks for letting the rest of us know this trick, because its not in the wiki)
So now, I create the stream file, name it appropriately and it places my movie link in the correct viewing order (according to TVDB).
For example, the movie Legion and TV Show spin-off Dominion. Legion is placed in Movies as per normal. I then create the stream file Dominion S00E01.strm and place it with my other episodes of Dominion TV Show. I then paste the local address of the movie Legion into the Stream file, save it and rescan my library.
Now, instead of being at the bottom of the list, the movie is correctly sorted in the TV Show.
