Playback stops from smb

I have an android box with s905 amlogic processor. I’ve been running Kodi for a while now and recently it has begun cutting out in the middle of shows and movies playing off my home group storage every 6-10min. It exits back out to the previous screen and allows me to resume where it left off. I’ve tried Kodi 16.0, 16.1, 17.0 beta, even tried spmc, and they all have the same issue. I then put I new Rom on the android box and I still have the same issue. I’ve tried factory resets on the box and the issue still persists. I can run kodi on other boxes from the same sources without the issues so it isn’t the network storage.
What do you recommend next to troubleshoot?
