I have a very strange and in my opinion UNUSUAL problem with kodi. Let me try to explain and hopefully one of you guys can help me…
OK so I had an old PC that I had been using kodi on for years… After many years the PC finally died. For the info it was an AMD pc that was about 11 years old. I sucessfully ran my HTPC with kodi on it for years. So I had to replace the dead PC and went to best buy and picked up one. It was far superior to the one I had and it was now windows 10. Great Since I really only use it for kodi I got kodi 16.1 and put it on. After setting thigns up it seems to work perfectly. No problem at all with my libraries or anything.
However here is the problem. It appeared like the kodi would keep freezing up on me or pausing. I looked into all the problems that could come from windows 10 and kodi 16.1 and the problem kept happening. Not all the time but every now and then. Now the PC would have been not used or even a movie could have been paused for a period of time and then when we go back to it nothing works because the machine appears frozen. So we get out of it and start again and it is fine until it is doing nothing for a period of time and then the problem comes back and we have to find a way to close kodi to start over.
But,
today I learned something that I didnt ever notice before. It seems like the PC or windows 10 or kodi is NOT freezing at all!!!!!!!!
It did appear that way to me but here is what I noticed today. I was on the couch using kodi as usual. Moving around the screens with my media center remote (as usual) and suddenly it stopped working or should I say it FROZE again
OK so no matter what I do with the remote it wont work and that is what has been happening. But guess what I also have a logitech keyboard that I use as well all the time when I need to type. It also has a mouse pad on it…
So I pick up the keyboard and move my finger on the mousepad and then the cursor appears and the screen is no longer FROZEN!!!
I tried this many times over & over again whenever the screen appeared to FREEZE. What I think I found out is the screen did NOT FREEZE but for some unknown reason the screen would not move with the remote but as soon as I moved the mouse pad on the keyboard then the remote control now works.
I dont know if I am explaining this properly but perhaps the cursor is should I say HIDDEN And nothing I do with the remote will bring it back and allow kodi to move, but when I use the keyboard then they both work but as soon as the kodi is left alone for awhile this situation returns….
Can anyone help me solve this problem as I dont want to always have to go back to the keyboard. I never did in the past and I have been using this remote for over a decade. Never having to use the keyboard unless I want to type something.
Is there a reason for this It is almost like the thing that controls the remote gets passive or goes behind kodi until I use the keyboard. Then it comes active again.
