Hello
I have just purchased a s12 egolggo which is a small android 6 based box with Kodi Jarvis installed. Anoyingly even though it also has the google play store installed I cannot get Channel 4 (UK tv channel) app to work. The app runs but just streams audio from the program, no video. It does show the adverts before the start of the programme though so I am baffled as to what is going on.
The BBC I player works fine and I can stream HD video using the I player app so its not to do with my internet speed (whuch is around 16 mbs).
Channel 4s website still uses Flash to stream video and although I have installed the last available flash player on the box I cannot get any of the available web browsers to play the stream, I just get the message You dont have Flash installed.
Looking around the Kodi forums for a solution I saw that Channel 4 has a DRM that stopped the last available addon working, so I could be on to a dead end with my Idea.
Someone made an addon which takes the data from the BBC IPlayer website and somehow plays in Kodi. The addon is called WWWIplayer and it works very well.
I belive that Kodi has the ability to use external players so would it be possible to produce an addon that works like wwwiplayer and somehow pipes video streams from channel 4s web to the flash player?
I am not a programmer so dont have a clue how to do this.
Sorry for such a long oost, and I hope Ive posted in the correct forum, can a mod move this if I have not?
I look forward to any solutions.
