Hi!
Sorry if this has been posted before, my specific problem uses a lot of common words bringing up threads about buffering and caches. Followed all those steps anyway and I have the same problem. So what is my problem?
When skipipng forwards or backwards there’s a slight delay, doesn’t matter what file type. The files are all locally connected via USB 3.0. It feels like a little less than half a second wait. I press the right arrow on my keyboard to jump 10 seconds and a circle with a 100 comes up (The buffering circle with a 100%). I open up the same files with a silly little player like GOM player and the skip is instant… IMPERCIEVABLE <Shout like Wallace Shawn>. So I’m ruling out hardware and Windows. This is a persistent problem with ALL my videos. After a couple tries I was able to get a screenshot:
I’ve put this in my advancedsettings.xml file (Looking for it now I see that it’s sitting in the userdata of the Roaming folder – copied it to the Program Files folder as well and no change):
<advancedsettings>
<network>
<buffermode> 2 </buffermode>
<readbufferfactor> 1.5 </readbufferfactor>
<cachemembuffersize> 536870912 </cachemembuffersize>
</network>
</advancedsettings>
I haven’t had this problem in previous releases of Kodi before. But now in the last two versions (roughly) it has this little hiccup. So what weird settings do I change?
