Is it possible to send event to Kodi’s event log

I want to send message to Kodi’s event log. Is this possible?

Currently there is only one message in the event log (Kodi successfully started).

This is IMO a not really useful message Wink, so I want to fill this log with some more useful messages from Python addon.
