Blurry reproduction of photos

Hey–
Never had a problem with this previously in the past several years but, of course, on Christmas, when we wanted to look at family photos, about 30% are suddenly blurry. No change in OS, settings, television, resolution, etc. Any ideas? Running OPENELEC 6.03 on a Raspberry Pi.
