A little background
Recently had a lightning strike wipe out most of my entertainment equipment. TV, A/V Receiver, Cable Box, Mac Mini and lots of HDMI cables. Most of the equipment was expensive enough that I just got it repaired rather than replaced. The A/V Receiver not so much. Parts too expensive and not available so I bought a new, upgraded model (ONKYO TX-NR646).
The problem
Since the new receiver supports HDCP2.2 I made sure that all the new hdmi cables did too. Hooked my newly repaired mini up to the HDCP2.2 port on the receiver and was surprised that the video kept cutting out on a regular cycle about every 5 seconds. Works great on a standard hdmi port. I know this isn’t really a Kodi issue, it’s strictly hardware, but I’m hoping to find out if it’s a general problem with Mac (maybe Mac doesn’t support HDCP2.2) or if it’s just some problem with my hardware and others have no problems with UHD systems.
