Artwork and textures get messed up when display is turned off and on

Kodi 17 rc2 running on x86 with a discrete amd hd6450 on ubuntu 16.04

Htpc is connected to an Onkyo avr through hdmi and that is connected to a 1080p projector (benq w1070)

If the avr and projector are turned off and then turned back on while the htpc is on, all the cached artwork and textures get messed up.

Here’s how it looks: [Image: naDF44n.jpg]

Here’s a debug log: http://pastebin.com/4UmuhDQG
I basically open kodi, turn off avr and projector, wait a few minutes, turn them back on and browse around for a bit while it looks like the picture above

Additional details: I also tested this on Libreelec 8 alphas (kodi 17 beta based) and get the same result.

Ubuntu 16.04 is a fresh install with the full gui and window manager. The only mods I did were to disable pulseaudio (for bitstreaming), enabled desktop sharing (vnc) and install lirc

And lastly, out of curiosity, I enabled desktop sharing to peek in through vnc and see what’s going on. When the avr and projector are turned off, everything is fine. But once they are turned on, the screen immediately turns to the above picture. So I can say with confidence that the issue is related to the handshake.

Thanks

EDIT: Forgot to mention that it seems only the currently cached artwork and textures are affected. If I enter the movie library, the first few entries will show no artwork, but when I scroll down further, I’ll start seeing the posters for later items just fine (although the text is still messed up)
