Background: I’m new to Linux / Pi / Openelec and Kodi. I’ve yet to find the Kodi Upload Logfile Add-on so I’ve been forced to use manual uploads for debugging files when requesting assistance. What I thought I did on previous occasions and last night via Samba to access and copy the file isn’t working tonight.
I can see the log file generated today via SSH. Logging on, using the “list all” command I see a number of lines of files or”folders/maps” with “.XXXX” and additional maps such as backup, configffiles and logfiles. Using “cd” I can navigate first to “.kodi” and then to “temp” to find two log files generated today. And if I use the nano command, I can view the log contents. If I navigate back to the opening directory to “logfiles” I find three zip files from Dec 29.
Going the Samba route Windows Explorer shows me the additional maps seen above, but the items “.XXXX” don’t appear and I seem to be at a brick wall unable to further navigate to the necessary log file. Windows Explorer does show the logfiles folder seen above with the three zip files from Dec 29. It only seems to show items which are not prefaced by “.”
What am I missing either in Samba or
via SSH in a Linux command to copy and past the contents with a Win 7 machine?
