I recently upgraded from a home-rolled FreeBSD samba server behind ESXi v5.5 to a FreeNAS (also FreeBSD) NAS appliance behind ESXi v6.
To migrate to the new NAS, I changed IP addresses on the new FreeNAS appliance.
Now Kodi sees my library on the new NAS appliance.
When I go to start a movie from the new NAS, it takes upwards of 3 minutes before the video starts playing. If I play a TV episode, it starts quickly as expected.
Movies are generally in the 8-10GB range, episodes are ~1GB.
Not sure if there’s anything in the Kodi logs that points to why it would take so long for the video to start.
