Kodi 17 rc3 problem

What is the most stable version 17 or 16.1.
I have problem with kodi 17 rc3. Each time a movie play if I hit to exit and return to menu it keep going back and playing the movie. I got to keep hitting exit till I’m out of kodi.
Using Firetv Any of kodi version more stable. Thx
