I cant see the cursor when i run kodi 16.1

i can click on things but i cannot see the cursor, i also cannot go to the right to access system on the home screen, it worked one time correctly, i tried 17 but its terrible on ubuntu 16.04, ironically i just switched from windows 7 because it was crap but it ran kodi perfectly, lol. thanks in advance to u all
