Build problems

Hi downloaded kodi 17. Been right through everything to install pulse. It all downloads then I close kodi to restart. It comes on all looks good as the pulse logo comes up. But then it just goes back to the kodi screen menu. But pulse is there as it still in the files. How can I get it on permanently. I have tried with a few builds and all do the same. Help please or if you no a build that will load. Cheers
