Previously, my Samsung UNHU9000 would kill the backlight (but the tv would remain on) once the black screensaver was initiated within Kodi.
Now, for whatever reason (without any changes to TV settings), once the screensaver starts the backlight will remain on, wasting power.
It seems like previously the PC was just sending a dead signal and the TV, detecting it as such, didn’t bother to produce anything at all. Now, it seems like it’s sending a signal of black.
I suspect this might be something to do with the way the Kodi signal is sent by my graphics drivers, but I’m not sure. I have an 980 GTX with the latest drivers on Windows 10. It started happening some time ago, I think when I updated the drivers, but I’m not sure.
Any thoughts?
