I am looking for a hotkey or some way to control whether, when I stop any given movie in the middle of its progress, a resume point is created. I know that you can use the advancedsettings.xml to make it so that either resume points are always created or never created, but my situation is that I usually want to create a resume point but sometimes don’t. I also understand that it is relatively easy to delete a resume point by simply going to your movie in your library and hitting the w key to mark it as watched, but the problem is that I usually initiate playback from the home screen, not by selecting a movie from my library. I have the Titan skin set to show a homescreen widget of In Progress Movies, and the w shortcut doesn’t work when I try to use it on a movie showing up in that homescreen widget. I can’t even bring up the context menu on a movie in the homescreen widget.
So the ideal solution I am looking for is that when I am in the middle of playing back a video, I could use one of two different hotkeys: the first would just stop the movie like normal (i.e., the default x hotkey during playback) and create a resume point, while the second would stop the video and not create a resume point. Is there a way to accomplish this using the keymaps.xml and/or python?
One workaround I thought of was to set a hotkey to the action of SkipNext to skip to the next movie in a playlist, but this still creates a resume point in the movie that is being skipped from. I was hoping that it would mark the movie as watched, but it does not.
If none of these things work, does anyone know of a different Kodi skin that could show In Progress movies on the homescreen and that would allow the w key to have its normal function on the homescreen as well?
Thank you so much!
