Hello there folks.
This I am sure is a dumb question. But I just have to know for sure what the right answer should be.
So I just got myself a new “Denon AVR-X1300W” AV receiver. I got it for Atmos and DTS:x decoding. And I am enjoying it alot. ( http://www.whathifi.com/denon/avr-x1300w/review for reference). But I am a little bit lost on whether I should set my “speaker settings” in kodi and Windows to 7.1 or 5.1 (if only Windows had a 5.2.2 setting in it’s sound config)
The Denon AVR-X1300W can do “5.2.2 Atmos” And also “DTS:x 5.2.2” speaker placements. And that is what I have got set up in my room. (Yes I got up on a ladder and put up some ceiling speakers).
I have no issue playing “Atmos” or “DTS:x” content. I get all the right bells and whistles lights for when I am playing that type of content (hearing things come from the roof is cool as ****) It all plays as it should. Where I a little lost is what about content that is not “Dolby Digital” or “DTS:x/CORE” IE: some “ACC” or some “FLAC” content that are more than stereo (I have a few albums that are in “FLAC” that are 5.1 sound).
I am using a GTX 960 as my output to the AV receiver over HDMI. Both sound and video on the one HDMI cable. Windows is set as 5.1 sound output.
Kodi sound output is right now as in the screenshots below.

I know it is a dumb question. But I only ask due to me wanting to use the “DTS:NaturalX” up mixer thingy on the AV receiver when I am playing non “Dolby” or “DTS” type content. And to address my OCD on all the things.
Anyway. Thanks for your time
