I’ve recently upgraded to Kodi 17 across most of my devices and noticed a pattern of potential glitches that don’t seem unique to my individual installs.
1. I have multiple profiles setup on my install. None of them can access “Get More” inside the Interface/Skins settings menu. When I click “Get More” it just sits there doing nothing. The only way for me to install new skins is via Addons/Install from Repository/etc…. from where it works fine. When first installing Kodi vanilla, prior to creating any profiles, the “Get More” option works just fine. This happens on all of my devices, Mobile, Win10 PC, Samsung Galaxy Note tablet, and my Nvidia Shield. I can get OS versions across them all if required but it doesn’t seem to be very choosy.
2. On my phone if I hit the Home button and then return to Kodi after a short period of time I’m met with a completely Vanilla version of Kodi. It’s as if the data has been completely wiped from the phone, no links, no shortcuts, no media, nothing at all. If I then force close the app and re-run Kodi it loads up just fine. Looks like something to do with how the app is put into standby? Using Marshmallow Android at the moment, 6.0.1. I’ve not noticed if it does it with my tablet yet, don’t really use it much. I’ve not noticed it happen once with the Shield though and I use it a lot, I was wondering if it’s application standby was perhaps different due to different power requirements.
3. Confluence skin sometimes doesn’t load fully on initial opening. When I open Kodi 17 on any of my devices I am often met with either a transparent background or transparent foreground, as if the skin hasn’t loaded properly. Clicking down to power and logging off shows the same issue but as soon as I log back on it’s fixed. I couldn’t find a way of refreshing the skin so I’ve stuck with logging off and logging on to fix it. Happens across all Android devices that I have, Windows seems fine so far although I only use it for testing.
