Raspberry PI 3 with OSMC running Kodi 17.1-RC1 wired to router
PC #1, WIN 10, wired to router, with Kodi 17.1-RC1 installed. This PC contains media files
PC #2, WIN 10, wired to router
PC #1 is visible on the network to PC #2, and vice versa. I can share files both ways.
PC #1, PC #2, and the Raspberry all show up and are allowed when I list attached devices in the router browser monitor
When I run Kodi on PC #1, I can see the the media file folders when I go through “Videos / Files / Add Videos… / Browse”, and I can add media to the Library. Everything works fine. However, when I go through “Videos / Files / Add Videos… / Browse” and then select either NFS or SMB, it gives me the “Working….” message, but then does not show any files or folders on PC #1. No error message, no nothing. Same thing on the Raspberry…. no error message, but no listing of files or folders on PC #1.
I’ve checked and rechecked the advanced network settings in Windows 10 on both PC’s, I’ve disabled the firewall on both PC’s, I’ve re-installed OSMC on the Raspberry twice, and checked the settings in OSMC.
By the way, it worked fine until a couple of weeks ago. I’m not aware of changing any settings, either on the PC’s or the Raspberry. In my meager understanding of these things, I’m guessing that it’s a Windows issue, but I sure can’t figure it out.
Does anyone have any ideas that I can try? I’m a big fan of Kodi, but if I can’t get it to work, I’ll go with Plex or something else.
Thanks
Dave
