Can someone please tell me if Kodi 17 for Android, or indeed any version for Android, can output Dolby Digital Plus (DD+) and both Dolby and DTS High Definition audio via HDMI?
The reason I ask is because I cannot get any of these formats to play from my Nvisia Shield ATV on my tv, a Hisense 58″ 4K model. Vanilla Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 play with no problems at all but none of the other high bandwidth codecs play. I get a picture ok, but not sound.
I have asked Hisense about this and they say their tv’s are capable of accepting and decoding any of the DD or DTS codecs over HDMI.
