After the installation reported success, spent the past couple of hours trying to resolve this error, which is preventing Kodi from launching::

kodi.exe – System Error
The program can’t start because api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.
*********
– there are several instances of this dll on my machine (possible version contention)
– downloaded and installed the Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013 – failed
– uninstalled kodi, rebooted, reinstalled Kodi – failed
– dropped a version of the dll in kodi’s root folder – failed
No mentions of api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll appear in the forum search, apologies if this is a duplicate post.
