Hi,
I need to rescan my movie folders on an SMB share as I have made manual updates to all of my nfo files (about 1000) and I have followed the wiki instructions to set content to none, allow removal then set content to correct value (http://kodi.wiki/view/Updating_or_removing_videos).
However, the removal part seems to happen extremely quickly (i.e. as if it isn’t really removing anything) and then the rescan/refresh that occurs when setting the content type back again also happens very fast so it looks as if it is not actually removing or rescanning. On inspection of the library after this operation, it is indeed unchanged from before – none of the new nfo changes I made have been imported to the Kodi db.
I have tried the same operation on an Android device with Kodi loaded and the library set up exactly the same as the Windows device, but the same behaviour occurs i.e. nothing removed, nothing rescanned.
Are there any known scenarios for this to fail?
I have seen many threads reporting success with this method so I am sure I have something in my environment messing it up. For example, does this operation require anything other than read permissions to the movie share? I figured it wouldn’t as it is only making changes to its own local (writeable) db files and it managed to complete the original scan when I set up the library in the first place.
Thanks
