It seems that when Kodi is paused I can keep it paused for a VERY long time with no issues as long as the Windows screensaver is disabled or set at a high timeout value. If I set my Windows screensaver to 2 mins and pause Kodi, as soon as the screensaver kicks on I hear a windows chime (I’m guessing an error message from Kodi). When I move the mouse to get rid of the screensaver I notice Kodi is frozen. If I move the mouse around a bunch and click a few times finally the error message that Kodi has crashed appears and says Kodi experienced an error.
I tried getting rid of the Windows screensaver and depending on the Kodi internal screensaver (starfield, something simple) but that failed too. When disabling the Windows screensaver and setting the Kodi internal one for 1 min, the screen dims after 1 min and then screensaver never comes on. On the plus side, Kodi never crashes.
I would like to have a screensaver though, I don’t want to rely on dimming to save my screen. Any ideas?
