Hi there,
Kindly help!
Issue:
Eight out of ten times when I open KODI on my TV, there is NO sound (not even the default system sounds) at all. But I have found a weird but 100% safe, tried and tested workaround (mentioned below) to bring the sound back. However I need to understand:
a) why this is happening?
b) how can I permanently solve this issue?
Workaround:
How I bring sound back?
I exit from KODI.
Select the HDMI option from the TV menu which leads me to a casting device (Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter).
I exit from this cast device.
Again open the KODI from the TV menu and the sound is there!
Trivia:
Yes, I have tried just closing and opening KODI many times but the sound didn’t come unless I open the HDMI option in between.
Information:\
Device Type: TV
Device Brand: Nikai
System: Android 4.4.2 API Level 19 (Kernel: Linux 3.7.2-298x)
Kodi: 16.1
HINT (wish it can be helpful)
When I went to the HDMI option, I once checked the audio menu my tv offers me, there are some audio options. Besides the regular options (bass, treble, etc.), there are two options which seems to be interesting: AVC (it can be switched on and off), SPDIF (Off, RAW, PCM).
Regards,
Asim.
