Long time user of XBMC. I needed to refresh my library, and after deleting and recreating MyVideos78.db file I got an error.
since I was using an old version and I was finally going to (forcibly) spend some time with it, I decided to download and install the latest stable version of Kodi.
After reading the manual page, I added a delay upon startup, added my Videos media sources (Use info locally, no scraping) using SMB to my NAS and the first thing I noticed is that it would take forever to go through and add to library. It took 3 days to add 2,000 videos! WTH? I verified a settings and tried again, same thing. After a few days, my library was up-to-date, so I attempted to play a movie. It takes literally over 5 minutes to see any activity after a movie is selected and any file is un-watchable as only a few frames will show up ins super slow motion and then it will quit back to the menu.
I tried un-installing Kodi, re-installing four times and it is still the same. I installed a brand new SSD drive, fresh Windows 7 install, Kodi install and it still behaves the same! While researching the forums, I have read tons of issues reported. Is this an issue with the latest release or does previous versions of Kodi have the same issues? Is it possible to obtain a copy of previous versions or even XBMC? I never had an issue in almost 9 years and now with a fresh install without add-ons, etc I can’t even use it!
