coverart/metadata issue

I am new to Kodi. i cannot get coverart to appear for my movies on my internal hard drive. i only get scenes from the movie but no coverart. i can manually get the coverart but with over 600 movies this would to time consuming. i have all movies in separate folders with the same movie names. i have tried different scrapers/metadata providers. When i change, the database it is cleaned and still only scenes from the movies appear. Is there some setting that needs to be checked. Any help would be appreciated
