Laptop Vs Chromecast stream

I have tried this test on several laptops and I noticed doing auto play will run through many many streams and sometimes come up short.
If i try to play the same show/movie on my phone to chromecast it will get the 1st stream 99% of the time.
I’ve tried with VPN’s and without. Same results. Streaming from a computer/laptop has poor success rate getting a stream compared to chromecast. Can someone explain why this is?
