Reinstalled Kodi 17.1 after it was sluggish, now it won’t start

On my Dell desktop XPS 8300, with Windows 10 Home, version 1607, OS Build 14393.576. Processor-i5-2320 [email protected], Ram-8GB, System Type-64-Bit.
I had Kodi 17.1 working fine for weeks until it started to slow down. FRESH START would not work so I uninstalled Kodi 17,1 with CCleaner. I tried to reinstall Kodi 17.1 from the Windows store-the little block said it was working, I left it working for 8 hours over night. It would not start, so I tried to download it with google chrome from KODI download page. I saved the file kodi-17.1-Krypton.exe 81,889KB to my download folder. I double clicked on the EXE file it installs but will not run- not even a flash of the Krypton page on the screen. It is sad, I had it working and now it won’t. I have it working on my Amazon Fire Stick with no problems. Thanks for any help.
