When trying to make my own installer yesterday, I learned the hard way that zip files created on Mac are incompatible with Kodi.
I read the wiki today which explains this problem and tried Yemuzip as advised. That also didn’t work for me, but the terminal method did!
At least in a way that if I unzipped a folder using the terminal command and compressed it the same way, it worked in Kodi.
However, when I change the content of the files (addon.xml, default.py) and then compress them, I end up with an unreadable zip again.
The only thing I can think of is that when saving those files, unwanted OSX metadata is added.
So, is there a way to make this work on Mac? I know I can avoid this trouble by using Windows or a VM, but this laptop is my main computer, I take it to work where I have several hours each day to play with Kodi so having to use another computer to make those zips everytime would be a real party crasher.
