Hello,
I attempted to play a Blu-ray disc. I got the following notice:
“Playback failed
—–
“One or more items failed to play. Check the log for more information about this message.
[OK]”
I clicked OK to dismiss the notice. Then I clicked the gear icon and got the following result:
System > Event log | “Kodi successfully started”
I don’t know what’s wrong.
I had already created an outgoing Windows Firewall Rule granting ‘C:\Program Files (x86)\Kodi\kodi.exe’ access to the Internet. I suspect that access to an AACS database is what is causing Kodi to fail, but that’s just a guess, and I otherwise don’t have a clue. I tried a Blu-ray disc that has been around for many years and got the same result. I tried a DVD and it played normally.
I searched for help on “One or more items failed to play” and found nothing helpful. I could not find any info on AACS (or a manual of any type). I could not find any ‘.dll’ library that may be loaded and trying to access the Internet. Windows Task Manager indicated that only ‘C:\Program Files (x86)\Kodi\kodi.exe’ was running and no additional task ran when I tried to play a Blu-ray disc.
Thanks for any help. Without it, I will have to abandon Kodi.
Ciao,
Mark.
PS: I’m running Windows 7 SP-1.
