System: Windows 7 SP1
Issue: Kodi 16 worked flawlessly. I finally decided to go with 17.1. Got that Addons27.db bug. Followed forum instructions to remedy. It worked like a charm. During add-ons activity all was going smoothly until I made what might be a greedy decision. Seeing the Text-to-Speech add-on I selected it. Immediately Kodi ceased to work. I can’t recall now the exact error message but remember it said something about if Windows found the problem I’d be notified.
Actions: Uninstalled, reinstalled, left user profile in place. Installation exhibited no hitches. But Kodi repeated the error from before and refused to load after showing the Splash screen. Uninstalled again, deleted the user profile. Restarted the computer just in case. Same result. Uninstalled again, wiped out every folder thing related to Kodi. Reinstalled and restarted computer. Same result. In desperation came here for help. Could problem be some .dll issue?
Speculation: It all began with the Text-to-Speech add-on. Perhaps this file has a corruption of some sort.
