At its most basic level, this work-in-progress addon is a service that periodically checks the Wallpapers subreddit, identifies the Top image (most popular), then downloads that image and stores it locally for you. The file is downloaded to a specific location with a specific name, so if you set that image as your Kodi background it should update on-screen automatically when new images are retrieved.
The addon also allows you to download and store up to the 25 most popular images on the subreddit on each scan. This is a great way to start building a Wallpaper collection for screensavers and those skins which allow slideshow background.
Best of all, you aren’t restricted to just the /r/Wallpapers subreddit; you can use any subreddit where people create post that link to images.
You can even give the addon multiple subreddits to check and it will download images from them all!
You can filter images by:
– nsfw (as determined by Reddit)
– image file size
– image dimension
I hope some of you guys can help with the testing of this addon.
