Hello there,
I recently built a new HTPC because my old j1800 solution did not do HEVC very well.
My new setup is as follows:
Celeron G3900
8 GB ddr 3
GTX 1050 TI
Asus Xonar DGX (using analog 5.1 output to my rather old receiver)
Windows 10
First of all I think overall responsiveness in Kodi 17 gui feels worse than Kodi 16 on my J1800 board with onboard gpu. Moving the mouse during HD video playback is stuttering to say the least. I dont know if that has to do with kodi 17 or my setup. But switching to a „real” (socket mounted) cpu and a dedicated gpu I somehow expected everything so bee smoother than before.
Of course I have win 10 updated with the latest (Creators) update, latest nvidia and xonar uni drivers.
Anyway, a stuttering UI is not to much of a problem. My biggest concern right now is audio/video sync. I always have to set the offset to about “0.175 delayed”
I have been using the same sound adapter to decode and put out 5.1 analog signal on my previous setup, so somehow i think it may have to do with the nvidia gpu…
I have been using Kodi/xbmc since 2005 (on the classic xbox) and never had problems setting it up but i cant seem to get it to work this time.
