Good evening all,
I recently purchased a Pi 3 modB and tried to migrate from the Pi B+ using the LibreElec ‘Update’ method.
The Pi B+ was running LibreElec 8.0.1 and Kodi v17.1 Krypton, which I wanted to continue using on the Pi 3 with my modified Skin, Library, ‘Watched History’ etc. Having downloaded the ‘LibreELEC-RPi2.arm-8.0.1.tar’ file, I found that the B+ failed to Update through the Samba-Update method (the Update file was ignored) and would continue to boot into it’s current format.
Using the B+ microSD card ‘as is’ in the Pi 3 only displayed the Kaleidoscope.
Following the method as described by Milhouse (http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=282367) allowed me to successfully boot into my previous setup with retained Watched History (etc) intact, but on the PI 3.
** Additionally, the hardware upgrade has meant that all the .mkv files which previously stuttered or only displayed a pixelated grey screen now played without fault.
I hope this information is of help to anyone else finding themselves in a similar position.
kind regards
B (ARWS)
