Cannot skip though videos or movies

Looking for help on a recent problem.
I have a gen 1 firestick and remote running Krypton 17.1 with the Confluence skin.
When watching a movie or TV show within Kodi, I can no longer skip thru a movie or show using the up, down, left, right curser on the remote. I can only fast forward or rewind using the on screen control panel. The remote buttons works fine for all other operations in and out of Kodi… I’ve added a video showing the problem..Can anyone show me how to correct or fix??
