I had Kodi 16.1 installed and things worked great for a long time. I then updated an add-on called Sports Devil to the 03-28-17 build. Somehow it didn’t uninstall the older version (can’t recall what it was) and both were running. I uninstalled the old one and things seemed ok. I typically leave the PC (Win 8.1, 4770k, Asus Z87 Pro, G-Force 610) on 24/7 so that when the TV is turned on, Kodi is waiting and ready to go. I have a windows remote that is easier for the family to use, as well as a wireless keyboard to interact with the system. Since the Sports Devil update, after an hour (give or take) the remote and keyboard buttons stop working to navigate or do anything in kodi. Kodi is not froze, per say, but its acts like when there are multiple windows up (in windows) and the ones that are “inactive” do not respond to the keyboard, until the desired windows is clicked back in. That is exactly how this works, if the mouse is moved on the wireless keyboard and the mouse clicks somewhere on the kodi screen (Kodi is in full screen), the keyboard buttons and wireless windows remote starts working again. I figured maybe it was the add-on, since that is all that was changed that I know of, and maybe it had issues with a version of Kodi that was not the newest. I updated Kodi to 17.1, and installed confluence skin so that it looked like the version I was using. The problem was still happening, so I uninstalled sports devil .. I liked the idea of having it but hadn’t used it in at least a year, so figured it wasn’t worth keeping if it was going to cause issues. Even with it gone, Kodi still has the problem, so I don’t understand what the issue is. In addition, since going to 17.1, every time I turn the tv off, and then back on, Kodi is sitting on 1/4th of the screen and I have to exit it and restart it to get it back to normal. Since Kodi can be waiting (inactive) for long periods of time, frequently throughout the day as the TV is turned on/off, the problem has really become a pain. I apologize if this is not in the correct place to post, but I don’t know if this is a video, add-on, or ?? issue. Thanks to anyone who can help!
