Kodi 17.3 questions in need of help

Hello very new here and in need of help I will describe my issue. First I am not a techie. Second I am trying to install kodi 17.3 on my 2nd gen Fire TV Stick. I previously installed Jarvis, then Krypton.1 day ago tried to update to 17.3 I used ES for both of the previously mentioned instals. Now I tried to use Downloader but nothing is working. Neither app is downloading kodi. I factory reset my device re downloaded Downloader to try getting a fresh start and nothing… the same with ES the download on the downloader app it is taking forever and it stalls near to file completion I get the same lost connection message every time. On the ES app the download simply fails. Please if I am posting a redundant question forgive me! Everything else on my device seems to be fine other than not being able to download kodi, I’m stumped and in need of help.
