Video compressed to the top half of screen

I have a Pixel XL and I both installed Android Version O and Kodi afterwards.
When I run Kodi, the program itself with all the menus fills up the entire screen but when I play a video, the video gets compressed so it is only on the top half of the screen.
Any ideas?
