I don’t know if this is unique to my system, but I did a fresh install (hard disk died so I started from scratch) of Krypton Beta 3 on a Windows 10 x64 computer. I’m using a GTX 1070 graphics card connected to a Denon receiver. I have several MKVs with Atmos audio and also a couple with DTS:X audio and wanted to test out my new receiver that’s capable of decoding these formats. When configuring Kodi to pass through audio I followed the settings described in other threads on this forum (WASAPI audio, configured to pass through, even set up with 2.0 channel sound), yet in every case my receiver showed that it was receiving a PCM stream, not an Atmos or DTS:X stream. I tried tweaking the settings in various ways but could not get it to work.
For comparison, I installed Stereoscopic Player and set up the LAV filter to bitstream HD audio formats. Using Stereoscopic Player I can confirm that my receiver shows it is getting an Atmos signal (have not yet tested DTS:X).
Has anyone been able to get Krypton Beta 3 to bitstream successfully and, if so, how did you do it? If not, is this a bug?
I’m tempted to install Jarvis to see if I can get it to bitstream as a test, but I’d like to take advantage of Krypton’s hardware decoding of HEVC using my graphics card (processor is likely not quick enough to handle @ 4K, 10-bit).
