New user here so please bear with me….
New to the whole media boxes, started about a 6 months ago. I deployed a couple of RPI3s throughout the house to view personally owned movies that I ripped and store on my Synology NAS. Everything works pretty well for the most part, sluggish at times but still useable.
A couple of weeks ago had a lightning strike that took out two of my RPIs. I have started pouring over the forum here (which is phenomenal) to try and find a good replacement. I have really been focusing on the ODroid-C2 for some reason as that new replacement unit(s). Here starts my confusion or hesitation. Reading the forums and watching a few youtube videos, it appears you can install/launch LibreELEC but there is also an option to install/launch Android and just install Kodi from there. I think this may be cool as I can have access to a Netflix and HBO Go app (which I have accounts) and still have Kodi.
With the ODroid-C2, is there any issues with going the Android route? Will it cause it to be sluggish? Will there be overheating issues? Or just stick with LibreELEC and keep it simple?
Thanks for taking the time and reading my post.
