Not able to fully install Kodi

I was having problems with Kodi on my Nvidia Shield system. So I uninstalled it and re-installed it. When I went in to sit it up I put in everything correctly, but I keep receiving the same message that the network was not connected. I checked all network settings and the were connected. As well as I check other devices that I had to make sure that my Wi-Fi was connecting properly and it was. Could be that there is a problem with my system and I need to replace the system?
