Hi
A bit nervous about posting this as the only other relevant post I cd find was consigned to garbage and I’m not quite sure why….
I have Helix Version 14.2, so pretty ancient but it works fine for me accessing my NAS drive which is what I want it for. It is installed on my Amazon Fire box. As far as I understand Kodi supports this and this wouldn’t consign this to a garbage post….
The question is re hacking potential as touched on by Checkpoint (I stumbled across it in the newspaper)

Before I attempt an upgrade to the 17.3 version which I understand has the patch, I wanted to ask – do I need to? Is my old 14.2 version in fact safe from this particular subtitle-related issue anyway -ie is it only later versions that have the weakness? One article I read seemed to imply this, but I may not have understood.
Hope you can help – and that this doesn’t wind up as garbage!
