Hi,
For the last few weeks I’ve been having issues with my installation. After waking up the machine, performing any video playback (addons, live tv, local media) results in a black screen, but audio is still there. However, when a GUI element is visible, such as the OSD, the video playback is fine and the video is visible. Once all the GUI elements have disappeared, the issue occurs again. I have tested this on both a clean kodi installation (with appdata folder fully removed), a minimal installation (live tv only) and a full installation on a variety of kodi versions with the issue occurring on all three scenarios. From looking in the logs personally, it appears that “chosen scaling method 1 is not supported by renderer” is the error given by Kodi when this issue occurs.
Versions Tested: Kodi 17.0, 17.1, 17.2, 17.3
Windows Version: Windows 10, Creators Update (occurred before updates)
CPU: Intel Core i3-2100, 64-Bit
RAM: 6GB
Reproduction Steps: Wake computer from sleep and play any media file. Issue occurs randomly, and machine must’ve been in sleep for a while
Devices: Custom HTPC/Server, thin clients that do not use Windows 10 do not experience this issue
Video Card: NVidia GTX 1050
Audio Device: SPDIF via Creative Soundblaster X-Fi soundcard
