I can’t figure out why it’s doing this but music playback through an SMB file source is very choppy (or stutter). This happens after I upgraded my firestick to 17.3 Kyrpton. It would playthe mp3 file for 5 to 10 seconds, then stop for another 4 to 10 seconds, then starts again. Repeats.
I never had this problem prior to upgrading to Krypton 17.3. Video playing seem to be doing fine. This is happening with or without visualization turned on.
Music -> Files -> “My Music”
Where “My Music” points to an SMB shared network drive file folder where all my music reside.
Someone on the net suggested turn on video hardware acceleration setting. I tried that and no effect.
Someone on the net suggested Cache settings (http://kodi.wiki/view/HOW-TO%3AModify_th…17_changes) and they had to adjust cache-related tags to v17 changes. But, I don’t have “advancedsettings.xml” nor do I know how to do that.
Music add-on like radio stations seem to play fine. The choppy stutter music play only happens if I try to play my own music on my local network resources.
Also, the same thing is happening to my Kodi running on an Android tablet. On my Windows Kodi music seem to be playing fine.
Anyone have any clue why this is happening?
