video controls

New here. I did a search and found no links.
A friend and I have the same fault. We both have different Mygica Android 4.4.2 boxes. We have “compressed blacks”. In the tool bar at the bottom of Kodi, ( ver 16.1), My audio controls work. My Brightness and Contrast controls in the video section do nothing. We can move the cursor from 0 to 100, with no change in the picture at all. I just put Kodi on my Windows computer, and these controls work. Any fixes? Thank you
