New Firestick won't update the MySQL database

I got a new Firestick 4k Max (16GB) to replace one of my old Firesticks since it ran out of space. Since I have a few Firesticks with Kodi in my house, I use a shared MySQL database on the network and it’s been working like a charm for some time.

However, the new one seems to be able to read the database fine and all the titles that should be there are there, but if I add new titles and run ‘Update Library’ on the new Firestick, it will add the new title(s) but they only get added to that particular Firestick. They’re not in the MySQL database. If I run the ‘Update Library’ on one of the older Firesticks, the new titles still show up everywhere – including the new one.

With the new Firestick, apparently there are some issues around the pretty strict sandboxing, so I couldn’t copy the advancedsettings.xml file over to the Firestick the way I used to. Instead, I had to use Kodi’s internal file manager to be able to write to the folder. In the past, I would copy the file over while kodi wasn’t running. That’s not the case with this new method of using kodi’s own file manager. I restarted the app but maybe there’s something different about the way it initializes the database.

The only other potential issue I can think of is there’s a newer version of Kodi installed on the newer Firestick and there is some kind of database incompatibility or something like that.

I really have no idea but any insights would be appreciated/
