In both cases, I used the button in 3 ways:
- to pause (1 press)
- to skip to the next track (2 presses)
- to return to the previous track (3 presses)
If I stay on the application, I can only pause.
If I put the application in the background, I can pause and advance.
Going back to the previous track takes you to the next track + pauses.
