VLC for Android and Chrome OS • When playing multiple videos in a playlist, VLC will skip to the end of individual videos…help?

I use VLC to watch mainly a few television shows that I have downloaded onto my Chromebook. Unfortunately, recently VLC seems to be playing the part of a trickster and ends up skipping while episodes. Can I fix this?
