There are two possible explanations for that:
– the app crashes but relaunches itself, but I doubt it as if it happens multiple times, the system should say that the app is crashing
– something else (a second remote for example) sends the back button event

I would exclude anything related to the controller: the issue happens even with I’m not actively using it, so it’s not a matter of unintentional touches. It doesn’t affect other apps and it seems to happen only in VLC with that particular directory…
so maybe there’s a problem with the file catalogue? Maybe too many elements to scan? Just guessing…
