Kodi wakes up external HDDs from SMB shares each time it starts

I’m experiencing an annoying problem with KODI. As long as I remember this always was this way.

I have around 4 external HDDs connected to my NAS. All these disks are in the standby sleeping mode all day long.

3 of these disks are added as SMB shares to KODI. They are all “excluded from library” (or whatever that option was, so they shouldn’t be indexed when not needed).
Most of the times when I start KODI, all these drives are waking up one-by-one while I’m still in the main menu in KODI. Not even accessing the Video / Photos tab, and all these drives are already waking up for the next 10 minutes (until they go to the standby mode again).

This is super annoying, because I mostly open KODI to view one of the HDDs, with synchronized photos from family smartphones.

I was checking nearly all KODI settings, removing extensions, etc. but I never found the root cause of this problem. It seems to me like KODI is doing some useless indexing of mounted shares, so the NAS gets the folder listing command and re-checks for the files on these disks. I wonder if this behavior could be disabled, or maybe KODI team could focus on it and optimize it better?

Thanks.
